I’m a firm believer that you shouldn’t trust huge profit driven media corporations (bullshiters) in their news story’s, or anything for that matter! Fox News, CNN, CBS and so forth, are owned buy big corporations and therefore lack respect or credibility in my eyes.
One of the latest controversies on Fox News where they painted Mass Effect in one view without doing enough research further proves their lack of understanding of the journalistic “mission”. They want story’s that sounds interesting and chocking. The neverending media wheel of profit: more chocking and controversial news/story => more viewers => more attraction value for advertisers equals more profit to the company! Yes profit is good for business, society and economical growth, but to a reasonable price. These media companies have to much credibility to ever screw up a story or fail to do the right research. Instead of fast news reports and the rush to be first with a story they should (in my opinion) always prior the truth instead of the fastest. But hey! We live in the real world!? Money talks! Channels that report news, shouldn’t be allowed to be financed from the outside (Advertisers!). Its fine with channels that show entertainment, but not news that stupid people just suck in and translate as reality. Yes, I may be harsh, doesn’t trust the media, believe in the bad guys (people in power every where) ability to control and manipulate to their own benefit and also that all people are idiots!!! But that’s my opinion, and I’m a real cynic but what else can I be in this fucked up society. I have some ideas to express my views and thoughts by making short films, so I return on those later.
After the failure of the Mass Effect sex story, Fox tried to make it right, but too late. Their credibility in the gaming community is fucked ( as if it ever has higher than a pancake), and all the badwill they got truthout the big gaming sites, blogs and podcast won’t go away in a snap (hopefully never!). And this story probably will fuel that fire (Source: Destructiod). It seems that Fox News is now determined to neglect games and to publish even more ridicules news surrounding them. The latest, that games should be blamed and a cause for the disinterest in nature. That in the long run, peoples interest in nature will decrease (thanks to games) and therefore be a factor to the health of nature. I lack words to describe how pathetic this news and research is. Is it games fault that people find them more entertaining than nature? And what should be done? Forbid games, so we spend more time out in the wild? I mean come on, and this should have some kind of news value? Fox News should be prohibited from ever report anything concerning games.
